On the Origin of Kindness

On the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birthday, we wanted to give a quick shout out to the evolution of philanthropy by looking at where it stands today and where it is headed in the near future.  Go philanthropy!  (That’s the shout out).

Social entrepreneurship and venture philanthropy were terms that did not exist during Darwin’s time, but as we evolved as a society, we began to see the need for both in the foundations of our communities.  Websites such as Kiva.org have raised over $57 million in support of micro-financing institutions worldwide.  CanadaHelps.org has raised over $80 million in direct donations to 83,000 charities in Canada alone.

Sola Caritas hopes to be the next step in the evolutionary process by helping users give without giving money themselves.  Don’t worry, though we might look a bit different, we will still use the force of good that flows all around us to carry out our business 🙂

Sola Caritas you like?

Kind person you are!
